Kimberly began performing as a tiny tot. There was never any question as to where her passions lay.
Raised in the Bay Area of California she utilized every singing, acting and dancing outlet she could find. Then, as a teenager, feeling like there was “something more” she auditioned at age 13 and was accepted into Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts high school in Southern California. Happy to get full time training (living in dorms on campus), she developed a highly well-rounded resume of performing experience and during her vacation periods would tour in jazz vocal groups and theatre productions. Before graduating in 1990, Kimberly gratefully accepted the “Best Musical Theatre Performer” award.
Feeling confident about her musical theatre background she understood that even though she had great theatrical training thus far, in order to be considered an actor in the top of her field, she needed to build more of a straight actor’s resume. Hence, she studied at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco before auditioning and being accepted into Circle in the Square’s Professional Workshop in NYC. There she was awarded the Martha Schlamme Scholarship and graduated knowing that she had the necessary experience to step out from her full time training.
She and her fellow alumni created The Summoners Ensemble acting company to play active roles in the NYC theatre life. Along with staying busy in the theatrical community, Kimberly continued to sing and enjoyed a well-rounded career performing on stage and in cabarets, jazz and blues lounges and rock n roll, country and folk clubs.
Feeling at home on the stage, a few years ago Kimberly began testing the fresh waters of the film world. She enjoyed her experiences and was especially happy to dive into a juicy role co-starring in the indie film, Jared, which thus far, has been doing well in film festivals in NYC, L.A. and San Francisco.
Kimberly is always working on a new project or two and when she’s not performing, she enjoys writing and recording music and working on her one-woman cabaret shows. Presently, an exciting endeavor for Kimberly is being the founding producing director of River Heights Productions.
To expose the soul is a daily ritual of the actor. Therefore, reaching and maintaining a healthy, balanced life is extremely important in becoming an accomplished actor and performer. While confronting obstacles that could hinder self-evolvement and the availability of her human instrument and spirit, Kimberly has spent time re-evaluating, reshaping and nurturing her growth as a human being and is honored to allow this to flourish in her talent, blending career with her will and passion for life.
